Did you know that Wednesday is the Fast of Esther and International Agunot day? And Thursday is not only Purim, but International Women’s Day? These days remind us to celebrate the accomplishments of women, and urge us to do more to safeguard their health and security.

Jewish Women International is out front working on behalf of women each and every day.

This week we:

Co-authored "On Domestic Violence Front, More Work is Needed" with the Association of Jewish Family and Children’s Agencies. It is a call to action at a critical time, addressing the prevalence of domestic violence in American society, the response in the Jewish community, and the need to speak up.

Released Rethinking Purim: Women, Relationships and Jewish Text, a study guide designed to spark new conversations about healthy relationships using text of the megillah, midrash, and modern commentary. We have designed the guide for use in synagogues, study groups, book clubs, or simply with a group of friends.

Convened a briefing about the challenges and accomplishments of Israeli women and how we can help. Tomorrow, JWI and the Embassy of Israel are co-hosting a briefing with Avirama Golan, senior correspondent with Haaretz.

Introduced a new network to help women in their 20s and 30s as they develop their careers and create communities of their own. Get involved for mentoring and social opportunities.

Join us on the front line each and every day. Take action and contact your Senators. Use our Purim Guide. Stand up for the rights of women in Israel. If you have not already joined our advocacy network, sign up today. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. Please contribute to our unremitting efforts to ensure women are safe, healthy, and strong.
